One chilly March day, Kansei University fourth-year Kiyose Haiji encounters Kurahara Kakeru running uncommonly fast through the streets at night, and forces him into living at his dormitory. Haiji has a dream -- after suffering an injury in high school, he wants to run again and participate in an infamous marathon called the Hakone Ekiden. He has only one year left to turn that ambition into reality.
