Strut Your Stuff is where members get to show off their costumes without having to meet the craftsmanship requirements of Cosplay Runway or Hall Cosplay. This event commences prior to the Cosplay Contest and Cosplay Runway competition in Main Events. The Strut Your Stuff event will take place on Sunday, September 6th at 7pm in Main Events.

Section I. General Strut Your Stuff Rules

All Strut Your Stuff participants must be members of AnimeFest 2015. Your badge must be present and visible at all times.

You must be in costume. Your costume can be based from an anime, manga, original design, just about anything goes.

Commissioned costumes or closet cosplay is acceptable.

No costume is NO COSTUME.

You MUST be able to move/walk primarily on your own in your costume. AnimeFest believes that cosplaying involves behaving like a character while wearing your costume, not being costume mannequin.

No real weapons of any kind. Please read the convention Weapon Policy and if you have questions, contact the Cosplay Managers

You may enter individually or as a group, but groups are limited to 8 participants.

Section II. Rehearsal Rules and Regulations

There will be a mandatory dress rehearsal/walk-through. If you show up late and have not given adequate notification, you may no longer be allowed to enter in Strut Your Stuff. Times will be posted outside of the Cosplay HQ.

We will provide you seating arrangements which will also be the order in which you will enter the stage. This is provided during rehearsal. You may sit anywhere you wish after you’ve “strutted your stuff” on stage.

Music will be provided by the convention.

Each participant will have approximately 45 seconds on the stage, regardless of group size. There are three points on the stage in which you must stop and pose. We ask that each of these poses be unique, but not required.

Please do not throw anything onto the stage or at the audience. We WILL make you clean it up and the Event Director WILL be grumpy about it. It could also potentially get you removed from the convention.
Section III. How to Enter

Unlike our other events, there are no forms or anything for you to complete. You will however need to check in at Cosplay HQ to make us aware that you’re looking to show your beautiful self on stage in costume! This can be done during any of our operating hours on Friday or Saturday. Since the event takes place on Sunday, the latest you could check in on Sunday, September 6th would be at 3pm.
