AnimeFest Goes to The Majestic

AnimeFest is extremely excited to announce that this year's Cosplay Contest will be held at The Majestic Theatre in downtown Dallas! Only a block away from the Sheraton convention center, The Majestic is an iconic Dallas landmark, a 1,700 seat theatre billed as "one of the most elegant performing arts venues in the southwest".



As our con has grown, the cosplay contest has become so popular that even the spacious accommodations in the convention center are no longer adequate to contain the event. The AnimeFest team has been working very hard since the last convention coming up with a plan to let as many people as possible attend and view the contest, and we've decided this year to undertake the bold experiment of hosting the event in a separate, but convenient, venue. We're stoked to give y'all a chance to attend the classiest cosplay in the country.



While we've committed to the venue, there are still well over 9000 details to sort out about the logistics of this amazing event. We'll be passing along information about event times, transportation options, and seating as soon as we can get our staff to quit gawking.

Transport to and from The Majestic

The theatre is only 740ft away from the Sheraton Convention Center by foot...



...and we will be providing bus transport for those unable to make the walk, either from handicap or a bad case of "CosplayTooLarge-itis". Exact details (what type of bus, running hours, etc.) will be published when we have them.

Time of the event

Performances will take place on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 7:30 pm. The Strut Your Stuff, Cosplay Contest and Cosplay Runway shows are run in conjunction with one another.

Cosplay sign-up

Been twiddling your thumbs waiting for the forms for the various Cosplay events? Excited to enter? Well, we're excited to have you and happy to announce that the forms can now be found online in the rules respective to the event(s) you're entering into. You may find the details under Programming in the Cosplay section. In the past we've filled up quickly with little availability for on-site sign up, so get your forms in sooner rather than later. The form will remain available until either all time arrangements are filled or by July 30th, whichever comes first.
